The funeral procession of Abd Al Hakim Musa attracted angry citizens from the Dafuri community in Khartoum and members of the UPF student movement

April 4,2012–We have become used to receiving text messages and phone calls at different times of the day from Girifna members who bear horrible news. We’ve heard it all in recent weeks: murder, sexual assault, beatings and harassment. Every day, the National Intelligence and Security Services (NISS) proves to us that it is more brutal than we imagine. Yesterday, Girifna found out that Abd Al Hakim Musa who is a 21 year-old student studying agriculture at Omdurman Islamic University was run over to death by a speeding car in a suspicious accident. We followed the story and a source communicated to us that Musa received a phone call and left his house in the evening not to return again. At 12 p.m on the same day, his brothers received a phone call from the morgue and were told that a car dropped the body and rushed off. No phone number was left and the morgue only said that the car was a white double-cabin vehicle.

A source who knows the victim told Girifna that his death is a “political assassination” by the NISS  since Musa is part of the United Popular Front (UPF), a student movement .

Recently, Mohamed Musa , a student from Darfur and a member in UPF was reportedly killed in the exact way and as a movement that represents the entire nation, we are worried about the racist and ongoing targeting of Darfuri students.

Students from Darfur protested in front of the Omdurman morgue in Khartoum state earlier today and police forces beat protestors focusing on the individuals trying to document the crackdown.

Nagla Said Ahmed who is a video-journalist and Girifna activist was beaten on her back and head and had to be taken to the hospital. Another Girifna member was beaten.

Girifna condemns the inhumane murder of Musa and will continue documenting abuses by the NISS and other forces on Sudanese citizens.

We are especially concerned about the targeting of Darfuri students and aimed at documenting the harassment, arrest and torture they are subjected to in an earlier article.

4 أبريل 2012–تعودنا   في الآونة الأخيرة  علي تلقي رسائل نصية و مكالمات هاتفية في اوقات  مختلفة من اليوم من أعضاء في حركة قرفنا يحملون لنا أنباء مروعة. سمعنا كل شيء في الأسابيع الأخيرة: القتل،الاعتداء الجنسي ،الضرب والمضايقات. كل يوم،   جهاز   الأمن و المخابرات الوطني  يثبت لنا أنه أكثر وحشية مما نتصور.

أمس، علمنا أنه تم قتل عبد الحكيم موسى، طالب من اقليم دارفور يبلغ من العمر 21 عاما ، طالب يدرس في جامعة أم درمان الإسلامية بواسطة سيارة مسرعة في حادث مريب.

تابعنا التطورات و نقل لنا مصدر  ان موسى تلقى اتصالا هاتفيا و بعدها ترك منزله في المساء و لم يعد بعد ذلك. و في منتصف اليل في نفس اليوم، تلقى إشقائه اتصالا هاتفيا من المشرحة وقيل لهم ان سيارة احضرت جثته الي المشرحة. المعلومات الموجودة كانت ان السيارة بيضاء اللون و “ذات الكابينة المزدوجة” ولم تترك اي رقم تلفون.

وقال مصدر قريب من الضحية لقرفنا أن حادث وفاة الطالب موسي هو “اغتيال سياسي” من قبل جهاز الأمن ، اذ ان موسى هو عضوء في الجبهة الشعبية المتحدة (UPF) و هي حركة طلابية.

يذكر ان الأجهزة الأمنية قتلت محمد موسى، وهو طالب من دارفور وعضو في UPF بنفس الطريقة الوحشية. 

وكحركة تمثل جميع ربوع السودان، نحن قلقون بشأن العنصرية المستمرة التي تستهدف الطلاب الدارفوريين. 

  بعد انتشار خبر استشهاد موسي، احتج طلاب من دارفور أمام المشرحة في امدرمان اليوم و قامت الشرطة بضرب بعض المتظاهرين وبالاخص الأفراد الذين يحاولون توثيق الاحداث . 

حركة قرفنا تدين القتل الوحشي لموسى، وسنواصل توثيق الانتهاكات من قبل جهاز المخابرات وغيرها من القوات على المواطنين السودانيين.

نحن قلقون بشكل خاص حول استهداف طلاب دارفور و حاولنا و سوف نستمر بتوثيق المضايقات والانتهاكات  التي يتعرضون لها.
